Acting Principal Available
Kia ora John
Ngā mihi o te tau hou. I hope that you've had a great start to the year.
I know that you must be very busy but if you hear of a school needing an Acting Principal for either T2 or T4 this year, can you please pass on my details.
I finished 6 years as Principal of Richmond Road School in Auckland at the end of 2013. I travelled overseas with my husband for most of 2014. In 2015 I was Acting Principal at Takanini School in T2, travelling in T3 and a Reviewer for ERO in T4. I am with ERO again this term.
Should anyone want a copy of my CV with referee contact information, please ask them to contact me on stephanie.anich@gmail.com.

Schools Day Out
Registrations are now open for the 2016 Schools Day Out learning event at the Waikato Show on Friday 8 April.
Attached for you is the promo flyer. I’d be grateful if you could include this in the next Waikato Primary Principal’s Association Newsletter Monday Mailing. We’ve got 10 exciting stations this year, focused on digital technology, community organisations, as well as a health focus in our Homegrown Harvest area. Amongst other activities children will have the opportunity to learn origami techniques in our cultural area.
This year the Waikato Show is launching the Waikato Vegetable Fruit & Food Competition, with prizes to be won for the best vegetables grown, preserves prepared, and best apple pie bake. I’ve attached the promo flyer for this also.
Kind regards

A Thought – Quotes
A Laugh
From Diane at Deanwell School…
A husband and wife came for counselling. When asked what the problem was, the wife went into a tirade listing every problem they had ever had in the years they had been married. On and on she went:
Neglect, lack of intimacy, emptiness, loneliness, feeling unloved and unlovable, and entire laundry list of unmet needs she had endured.
Finally, after allowing this for a sufficient length of time, the
therapist got up, walked around the desk and after asking the wife to stand, he embraced and kissed her long and passionately as her husband watched - with a raised eyebrow.
The woman shut up and quietly sat down as though in a daze.
The therapist turned to the husband and said, "This is what your wife needs at least 3 times a week. Can you do this?
"Well, I can drop her off here on Mondays and Wednesdays, but on Fridays, I fish."
A wealthy old lady decides to go on a photo safari in Africa, taking her poodle along for company. One day the poodle starts chasing butterflies and before long, discovers that he's lost. Wandering about, he notices a hungry-looking leopard heading rapidly in his direction. The poodle thinks, "Oh, oh!" Noticing some bones on the ground close by, he immediately settles down to chew on the bones with his back to the approaching cat. Just as the leopard is about to leap, the poodle exclaims loudly, "Boy, that was one delicious leopard! I wonder if there are any more around here?" Hearing this, the leopard halts his attack in mid-strike, a look of terror comes over him and he slinks away into the trees. "Whew!", says the leopard, "That was close! That poodle nearly had me!"
Meanwhile, a monkey who had been watching the whole scene from a nearby tree, figures he can put this knowledge to good use and trade it for protection from the leopard. So off he goes, but the poodle sees him heading after the leopard with great speed, and figures that something must be up. The monkey soon catches up with the leopard, spills the beans and strikes a deal for himself with the leopard. The leopard is furious at being made a fool of and says, "Here, monkey, hop on my back so you can watch me chew that poodle to bits!"
Now, the poodle sees the leopard coming with the monkey on his back and thinks, "What am I going to do now?", but instead of running, the dog sits down with his back to his attackers, pretending he hasn't seen them yet, and waits until they get just close enough to hear. "Where's that damn monkey?" the poodle says, "I sent him off an hour ago to bring me another leopard!"
From Mike Lander:
Longevity in the Family
A young teacher was answering questions from his doctor about his family history. “My dad is in his forties, working and in good health. My grandfather is now sixty five, still working and also keeping in good health but the real hero in our family is my great granddad in his nineties who is getting married to a twenty two year old.”
Doctor, “What on earth is your great granddad doing wanting to marrying someone so young?
Reply,” Who says he wants to?”
