From our WPA President

Tēnā tatou katoa,
Greetings to you all.
Thank you to those colleagues that were able to participate in our Rotorua principal's retreat.  The WPA executive had very positive informal feedback from many of the attendees, who found the speakers informative and inspiring, and we hope you also had a beneficial time.   So, please take the time to complete the feedback form you have received to help us with our future planning.
I hope your last few weeks of the term go well.  It will be interesting to see what the outcome of our combined strike action will be; we are all hoping for a positive response from the government.
Ngā manaakitanga,

Lesley

Te Kahu’s Poem Session

During this session Te Kahu talked through a workshop sessions that he would do with students – we all participated and gave poem writing a go.

A poem by Paul Cooper (Acting Principal Hamilton Junior Highschool)

The Joy of Learning

Learning is a lightbulb that comes after a groaning focus of mind and the sweat of hard work.

Thin wisps of smoke trying to be a fire.

A spark of an idea bursting into flame giving a warm glow of joy.

If you would like to check out some of Te Kahu’s work that he touched upon you check out these YouTube clips.
