E ngā Tumuaki o Waikato, tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou katoa.
Greetings to all of our Waikato colleagues as we approach the final week of the 2021 school year. What a year it has been. We have all faced new challenges this year; two lockdowns, bubble school, preparations for part-time school, the introduction of the Covid Protection Framework, and most recently preparations for possible cases of Covid-19 in our schools. All this as well as the day-to-day work that we usually always do, particularly in a busy term like Term 4. I hope you all feel a sense of accomplishment as you head into this final week; we have finished the year intact and have proven that we are resilient, adaptive, flexible, and extremely hard-working.
Thank you all for your efforts and for the tremendous job you have each done supporting your school community through this challenging year.
To those WPA members who were able to come out on Friday night and join us for our WPA end-of-year dinner: we hope you had an enjoyable time. We are excited about the WPA events the team has planned for you in 2022 and look forward to catching up with many of you there. Keep an eye out on our webpage for up-and-coming events when school resumes next year.
I wish you all a safe and happy festive season and a well-deserved holiday break.
Ngā mihi o te Kirihimete!
