Principals supporting Principals… Principals supporting Principles!
Kia Ora
It was awesome to see so many of you at our recent connections day facilitated by Kevin Biggar. I personally really enjoyed the day (even if I am terrible at putting up tents) and I think that the last session of the day really bought it all home. Now it is time to put the new learning into action, particularly the ARBDEF activity – which I think will be really helpful, particularly at this time of the year.
Some great stuff in here this week – hoping to see you all at the Christmas Dinner on December 4th.
Kind regards

A message from Marcus
Kia ora Kotou
I really enjoyed Kevin Bigger’s Connection Day message. The strategies he gave us to deal with the impacts of the challenges we face was really helpful to get a healthy perspective on things. I keep thinking how his message can applied to teaching our kids who, in my opinion, seemed to be quite challenged in this area.
It was also great to acknowledge 5 Business Partners who have supported the WPA for 10 consecutive years. These the originals who helped get the WPA off the ground and helped us become the envy many other associations in New Zealand.
I am aware that end of Energize is a point of contention with many schools. WPA with partner with Sport Waikato in an event next year which will give Sport Waikato an opportunity to share more thinking around the changes and provide us a framework to rethink how activity happens in our schools and communities.
I have had a few friends who aren’t involved in education ask me if I am starting to ‘wind down’ for the year. If only they knew….
Have a great week 7.

This week is a TED Talk by Amy Cuddy is a personal favourite of mine. Amy Cuddy’s research on body language reveals that we can change other people’s perceptions — and perhaps even our own body chemistry — simply by changing body positions.
