White Ribbon Campaign

This year as part of our White Ribbon Campaign we are wanting to encourage people to be kind to each other! White Ribbon is a movement started by men and boys to pledge their support to stop violence against women. It has been taken up around the world as an international event, acknowledged on 25th November annually. We believe that awareness campaigns like this would not be required if we all knew how and practised being kind to each other. We believe this starts by being great role models and teaching our tamariki and rangatahi how to be kind to each other!

So we would like to encourage you to make November a month of kindness and we are providing you with two easy, great ways to do this:

  1. Kindness Jars – Here’s the video by Naomi Holdt showing you just how to do it!
An alternative to kindness jars is a kindness poster with pockets for the acts of kindness to go in.
Please note if this link does not work please visit our fb page here for the link.
  2. Go to violence free waipa fb page to take part in the 30 days of Kindness Challenge – we will be posting an act of kindness for you to do each day

You could also share the Kindness Campaign to your school fb page to help get it started - Here’s a sample:

Please spread the word and get this out to your teachers and students. It would be much appreciated if you can take a couple of minutes to let me know if your school gets at least a couple of classes on board with this. If you get any photos that you post on your fb pages please tag us in as we would love to see what “acts of kindness” come out of this. #violencefreewaipa #thirtydaysofkindness #KindnessCan #BeKindCambridge or #BeKindTeAwamutu
