Principals supporting Principals… Principals supporting Principles!

Please find this week’s Monday Mailing below.
Welcome to 2019 and the WPA Monday mailing. I hope you had a great break with family and friends and feel energized for the year ahead.
This looks like another very political year for education. With employment agreements still not settled, the findings of the ‘Tomorrow’s School’ review to be rolled out, and opposing political parties already saying reforms will be repealed.
Is this the trouble with education today? It is now a political game to please adults on both sides of the political debate and not the children it serves.
Remember this is your newsletter. Again if you would like to share a reading, opinion or an event feel free to contact me.
Kind regards
Tony Mangan

NZEI Te Riu Roa Field Staff Changes in Waikato / Bay of Plenty Region
Recently there has been some changes to branch allocation for Field Staff across the Waikato / Bay of Plenty region.
These changes have been necessary in order to give more support to or members and allow a more efficient use of staff time and resource.
1. New Branch Areas for Field Staff
Attached to this letter is an information sheet providing detail of which Field Staff member is supporting your local branch area.
Field Staff will continue to work with members advancing the work around our campaigns and will work with you on sector network activity.
Any member requiring advice relating to their Collective Agreement, or anything to do with their job or disciplinary matter are asked to ring the Member Support Centre 0800 693 443. Our Member Support Officers can advise on the phone, or if further industrial support is required, you will be referred to the Industrial Team for further assistance.
2. Hamilton & Rotorua Office Administrators
Field Staff administration work and follow up work with members is ably carried out by our two Office Administrators Rochelle Miller (Waikato Office) and Teresa Wilson (Rotorua Office).
3. NZEI Te Riu Roa Website
http://www.nzei.org.nz/
Our website is becoming the first point of call for many of our members who are seeking information about campaigns and local activity.
It would be most helpful if your 2019 Branch Meetings/Activities Programme could be given to your Field Officer who will ensure the dates of your meetings/activities are posted onto our NZEI Te Riu Roa Website.
Your NZEI Te Riu Roa Team looks forward to the work we will do together with members throughout the remainder of the year.
Yours sincerely
