Rant – Changes to the Education Act
It’s all about control, folks. This Government seems to be hell bent on taking choice away from schools:
- The Ministry can develop and put in place an enrolment scheme when a school refuses or is slow to do so.
- The second makes it clear that the Secretary for Education can override an enrolment scheme and direct a school to enrol a child or young person under exceptional circumstances.
