This CORE breakfast seminar will:

The workshop will invite you to take an active approach as we explore ideas about curriculum design and how it translates into:
- classroom practice
- student learning experiences
- progression of future focused capabilities
Workshop participants should bring their school vision and strategic goals. Register here

Quality Te Reo Māori me ōna Tikanga workshops:
Kia ora koutou,
The Jeanne Gilbert Consultancy is pleased to announce the term 2 series of three workshops for Quality te reo Māori me ōna Tikanga in English Medium schools. These will be the last workshops this year.
Are you wondering how to implement or review your te reo Māori programme? How are you building for sustainability in te reo Māori teaching, and planning for seamless learning across the school? How are you bench-marking against the curriculum? How can you teach using an engaging, communicative, interactive approach? How can you begin with limited te reo Māori? How are you supporting teachers who do not feel confident about these things? If you are looking for answers to these questions and more, come to the workshops, along with your lead / pilot team for 2017.
These interactive workshops progress from big picture thinking and planning, to team collaborative planning and upskilling of teaching methodologies, to a focus on teaching and learning activities in the classroom.
Workshop 3 would also be suitable for teachers new to schools that have already worked in-depth with Jeanne. Workshop 3 would enable these teachers to focus on classroom practice.
For full details of each workshop and registration forms go to:

Dates for Quality Te Reo Māori workshops 2017 - notice the change of date to workshop 2.
Please register straightaway. Schools that have already registered will receive a reminder email.

ConnectED Day July 21 – Nathan Mikaere-Wallis
Rant – Community of Learners
A number of schools have not joined Community of Learning / Kahui Ako, for any number of valid reasons. Some schools involved in a COL are considering leaving as it is not meeting their expectations.
Schools not in COLs are at risk of becoming isolated from some Ministry of Education events and resources; this has started already.
So perhaps non-COL schools could start their own organisation; we could call it a Community of Schools!!!!
Or perhaps an Education Board.
Note: The opinions expressed in the Rant are not necessarily those of the WPA; they are all mine!! Pat Poland
And just wait until the new editor takes over in term 3!!!!
