SENCO Opportunity
The beginning of the year is a busy time at school. It is an ideal time to be putting quality systems in place for the year. If you are a school SENCO or aspire to be one I encourage you to come along to our workshop in March.
Further, develop your knowledge and practice as a key leader in your school:
- Develop an understanding of key terms within a COGNITIVE assessment, and the implications of these for learners.
- Develop awareness of suitable evidence-based practices.
- The importance of mapping progress and the how of doing so.
- Become part of a COMMUNITY of SENCO working together to achieve great things for learners who find literacy challenging.
Kind regards

STA Principal Appraiser
I have been working as a Leadership and Assessment Facilitator for University of Waikato for the past three years. I have been a Principal of two U1 schools and have worked with First Time Principals and principals implementing assessment and school based curriculum in mainly small rural schools in a coaching and mentoring role.
My rate for appraisal would be between $1800 and $2000 for an initial performance management agreement set up meeting with the BOT and the Principal then 4 or 5 on site visits during the year to view evidence and conduct surveys with staff. Then a final visit to present the final report and recommendations.

Hmmm…
Seth Goodin – Attitude
The choice
Attitude is the most important choice any of us will make. We made it yesterday and we get another choice to make it today. And then again tomorrow.
The choice to participate.
To be optimistic.
To intentionally bring out the best in other people.
We make the choice to inquire, to be curious, to challenge the status quo.
To give people the benefit of the doubt.
To find hope instead of fear in the face of uncertainty.
Of course these are attitudes. What else could they be?
And of course, they are a choice. No one does these things to us. We choose them and do the work (and find the benefits) that come with them.
Hauora… Health & Happiness
Leadership…
A Thought…
This is all about values… an important message for boys in our school.
