Help!! PTA – Managing Incoming Money

We are looking for guidelines on how a PTA should manage money from fundraising events – who should count it, what happens once it is counted (banked, stored at school…). For example, the children recently paid in advance for a sausage sizzle; the money was received, and a PTA member then used the money to go and buy the sausages. This seems fraught with opportunities/accusations for theft; there is no proper paper tail.

Help please.

Rant –

If the Minister of Education is sincere that Bulk Funding will enable Principals to have more flexibility in the management of their school, and that this is critical, then why doesn’t she fund schools at the top of the salary scale rather than the middle? Could lead to smaller class sizes…

I went to buy some camouflage trousers the other day but I couldn't find any.

So I rang up British Telecom, I said "I want to report a nuisance caller", he said "Not you again".

So I went to the Chinese restaurant and this duck came up to me with a red rose and says "Your eyes sparkle like diamonds". I said "Waiter, I asked for a-ROMATIC duck".

So I said to the Gym instructor "Can you teach me to do the splits?". He said "How flexible are you?". I said "I can't make Tuesdays".
