Human Synergistics International Leadership Course

Dear Colleagues

We will again host the Human Synergistics International Leadership Course at Te Rapa Primary School in 2016.

It is a fantastic ‘leadership’ opportunity for aspiring future leaders in your school, and it is well suited to both middle management personnel and those unit holders who you have tasked to lead key initiatives in your school.

I did this course in 1992 as a new Principal and it proved extremely worthwhile, so I can confirm it is also well suited to those of you already in Principal positions (young and not so young !) right through to your basic scale teachers looking to the future, or members of your support staff too.

Please look to put some funding away in your 2016 budget and identify 1 or 2 staff from your school who you feel would benefit.

This is just another way that you can be seen to develop and grow existing staff for future leadership positions in your schools, and therefore show a commitment to building leadership capacity within the education sector.

Regards

Vaughan Franklin – Principal
Te Rapa Primary School

Human Synergistics International: Unique leadership opportunity- 2016

A two day professional development programme

“Why do I regularly send our leaders and aspiring leaders from Melville Primary School?

As a senior teacher and then a deputy principal I attended these workshops and thought them really beneficial in getting to know what I thought I was like… This insight then gave me the clear direction of where I could improve in my own leadership and how I could develop skills and strategies when supporting others particularly with challenge and change…”

Principal Melville Primary School, Hamilton- Dianne Pollard-Williams

“I participated in the Human Synergistics Leadership programme as a young teacher about 20 years ago. I have been a principal for 11 years and every teacher who has had an opportunity to move into a leadership role in my school has been invited to participate in the programme.. This is because it offers all participants a useful and informative snapshot of their individual leadership skills and attributes regardless of experience and is a great tool for planning their next steps in the leadership journey…” Principal Peachgrove Intermediate School, Hamilton- Louisa Barham

“This is a fantastic course for any school staff involved in leadership or for your senior scale A staff who are looking for a leadership opportunity now or in the future. I did it as a teaching principal of a 3 x teacher school 20 years ago and it helped immensely. Te Rapa has continued to put 2 x staff through it each year… This is why I have continued to assist Anne with keeping it alive and running in the Waikato.”

Principal Te Rapa Primary School, Hamilton- Vaughan Franklin

Hmmm… Never judge a child

Health & Happiness – Rules for Life

A Thought – Teaching

And a Laugh

Two old friends crossed paths after not seeing one another for almost a decade.

Utkarsh: "What are you doing these days?"
Sparsh: "PHD."
Utkarsh: "Wow! You're a doctor!"
Sparsh: "No, Pizza Home Delivery."

Police arrested two kids yesterday, one was drinking battery acid, the other was eating fireworks. They charged one - and let the other one off.

Two aerials meet on a roof - fall in love - get married. The ceremony was rubbish - but the reception was brilliant.
